Niederdorf street

This point of interest is available as audio on the tour: Visit Zurich, A City Worth Its Weight in Gold
This lively street goes by the name of Niederdorf, an important artery at the heart of the neighbourhood bearing the same name. A popular spot in the Old Town for its many restaurants, cafés, and shops that line along some picturesque streets. At night, the pedestrian zone transforms into a vibrant and festive place, perfect for having a good night. It’s also here that takes place the annual festival of Dörflifäscht when, each end of August, Niederdorf mutates into a fun village feast. By the way, Zürchers often like to call the district Dörfli, meaning “little village”—so this kind of proves my point! During the day, there are family-friendly activities, street performances, and great stalls that serve street food from all around the world. At night, the area becomes an open-air nightclub where you can listen to famous DJs. If you’re here on the last weekend of August, then you’ve come at the right time! It’s an event you cannot miss! Otherwise, this quaint neighbourhood offers great stuff to do all year-round.
