A more recent addition to the National Gallery of Art, the Sculpture Garden was inaugurated in 1999 with the aim of displaying primarily contemporary American works. Feel free to wander around the garden to discover the wonderful sculptures that have been added here over the years. In winter, the central fountain becomes an ice-skating rink. Enjoy a relaxing walk through modern art before returning to the grand National Mall!
