Ce point d’intérêt est disponible en audio dans le circuit: Visit Washington, Meeting its cultural identity
On your right, you’ll see a vast building complex known as the Federal Triangle. Built in the 1930s, it was one of the largest construction projects in the country aiming to establish seven federal buildings. Among them are the headquarters of the U.S government. It includes the Department of Justice, the Department of Commerce, the National Archives, the Customs and Border Protection Service, and even the Old Post Office. It represents the American federal government’s expansion during the 20th century. The Federal Triangle is one of the largest civic centers in the country. Designed in a beautiful neoclassical style, it may remind you of the Louvre in Paris and the Whitehall buildings in London. Given its architecture and history, the Federal Triangle is listed as a historical monument.
