Full of colour and delicious smells, welcome to another classic Venetian spot. An area once bustling with textile merchants, spice traders, and all kinds of goods exchange, the Rialto Market has been an integral part of Venice’s identity since the 13th century. Losing yourself among its many stalls, through the fruit stands or the fish counters, you’ll see it’s more than just a boost for the local economy—it’s a way of life. If you weren’t aware, Rialto Market is divided into three sections. First, there’s the Pescheria, serving all kinds of fish. Then the Erbaria, dedicated to fruits and vegetables. And finally, the Beccaria, specialising in meat. Although some products are imported, many come from near Venice. Just look at the labels—some have travelled across the lagoon! From San Erasmo island’s courgettes to the tomatoes of Treporti… You’ll get a real taste of Italy!
