Hydroplanes

This point of interest is available as audio on the tour: Visit Vancouver, Where mountains meet ocean
If there’s one spectacle in Vancouver that both locals and tourists love, it’s the ballet of the hydroplanes. As common as this may seem to our Canadian friends, it’s not something you see every day in most places. As its name suggests, a hydroplane is an aircraft that can take off and land on water. The marriage between water and air is a perfect way to discover Vancouver, and flying over the city in a hydroplane is among some of the most popular activities! If you’re interested, you’ve come to the right place to find out about the available tours. There are generally two city tours available, the classic twenty-minute tour, during which you’ll explore the Vancouver skyline, the surrounding mountains, Shannon Falls, and the Sea to Sky cable car, South of Squamish. A more in-depth excursion, lasting 45 minutes which continues towards the famous Whistler ski resort, and will take you over the region’s highest mountains and glaciers, before returning over Howe Sound Island. Prices may vary, but expect to pay around 120 CAD for 20 min and almost 200 CAD for 45 min.
