Ce point d’intérêt est disponible en audio dans le circuit: Visit Toronto, Exploring Eastern Canada
At the heart of the hustle and bustle, with dazzling lights and a vibrant atmosphere, Yonge-Dundas Square is one of Toronto’s busiest intersections. Opened to the public in 2003 as part of a downtown revitalisation project, this square is a unique gathering place for the 56 million people who visit each year. And the secret to drawing these crowds? A year-round lineup of events—from yoga classes to international celebrations. Nicknamed the “Times Square of Toronto,” Yonge-Dundas Square uses giant screens, an elevated stage, and 20 fountains to host cultural, musical, commercial, and cinematic events. And what’s more, many of them are free! Since its opening, this one-hectare space has hosted over 200 types of entertainment events and more than 1,250 festivals and community gatherings. Impressive numbers that won’t stop growing anytime soon! There’s always something going on at Yonge-Dundas Square, and we wouldn’t have it any other way!
