Roy Thomson Hall

Ce point d’intérêt est disponible en audio dans le circuit: Visit Toronto, Exploring Eastern Canada
A celebration of music in Toronto, Roy Thomson Hall opened its doors in 1982. Its distinctive circular glass architecture has been home to the city’s internationally renowned symphony orchestra since 2002. So musical performances must be the main attraction in the Hall’s programme, right? No, not really. The venue also hosts other events, from smaller conferences to major screenings, including films from the Toronto International Film Festival and presentations by the American magazine National Geographic. Named in honour of Roy Thomson, a wealthy Canadian businessman and the project’s largest benefactor, the hall continues to be praised for its outstanding acoustics and can accommodate up to 2,630 spectators.
