Viewpoint on the Tokyo Sky Tree

Ce point d’intérêt est disponible en audio dans le circuit: Visit Tokyo, Where tradition meets modernity
You’re walking along the docks of the Sumida River that runs through the heart of Tokyo. Just opposite, you’ll find the amazing Tokyo Skytree—one of the tallest towers in the world. Since its opening in 2012, it’s all everybody talks about…probably because of its 634 meters height that offers breathtaking views over the Japanese capital. The height is no coincidence: 634 also goes by “musashi” in Japanese, which happens to be the former name of the area where the tower now stands, Sumida ward. At night, the tower either lights up in purple, gold, or sky blue depending on the evening. If you want to get the perfect view of Tokyo, the surrounding region, and even Mount Fuji on a clear day, this is the spot. The Skytree offers three observation decks: at 155, 350, and 450 meters high. Just be prepared—it’s one of Tokyo’s most visited attractions, so you may have to wait a while, unless you come early in the morning or later in the evening. This iconic landmark is visible from almost anywhere in Tokyo. When it was completed in 2012, it even held the title of tallest tower in the world—though that wasn’t for long, as the Burj Khalifa in Dubai soon beat the record. Anyway, the Skytree is well worth the visit, whether that is to reach the top or explore its shops, restaurants, museums, and nearby shopping streets.
