Hyde Park

Ce point d’intérêt est disponible en audio dans le circuit: Visit Sydney, Through the neighbourhoods
Named after the famous Hyde Park in London, this is the oldest public park in Australia. Established in 1827, it was designed in the style of English gardens and is now the largest park in Sydney.
In the past, locals would come here to play cricket, rugby, football, and even do horse races. Today, it is well-appreciated by residents, who come to enjoy peaceful walks or have picnics on the wide green lawns.
The park spreads over 16 hectares and is home to around 580 trees. Its rich history, along with the many monuments scattered throughout, has earned it a place on the New South Wales State Heritage Register.
Elegant and welcoming, Sydney’s Hyde Park really has it all!
