Aligned colorful houses

This point of interest is available as audio on the tour: Visit San Francisco, The Summer of Love
Far less known than the 7 Painted Ladies, the four neatly aligned houses on Lyon Street with the park in the background really deserve a quick photo break! If you were wondering, the street name has nothing to do with the city of Lyon in France, but is a tribute to Nathaniel Lyon, a commander in the U.S. Army during the war against Mexico in the 19th century. That being said, there is a French district in San Francisco, around Bush Street, and the Notre-Dame des Victoires Cathedral was built following the style of the “Basilique de Fourvière” in the French city of Lyon.
