Aquatic Park and Maritime Museum

This point of interest is available as audio on the tour: Visit San Francisco, The city by the bay
The park you’re wandering through right now, just in front of the beautiful beach, is part of San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park. It is composed of The Aquatic Museum, housed in the large building behind you, which used to be a bathhouse, and the Hyde Street Pier, which you can spot on your right, where you can see docked boats. They represent the historical fleet of the park, and you can actually visit them. These boats were made between the late 19th and early 20th centuries. You’ll find all sorts of ships there, from schooners to sailing boats, and even a tugboat and a steam-powered ferry. Boat enthusiast, do go take a closer look.
