Bidouane Tower

This point of interest is available as audio on the tour: Visit Saint-Malo, All hands on deck !
Built at the corner of the ramparts, on top of the rocky headland, Bidouane Tower is shaped like a horseshoe, as any respectable artillery tower would be in the 15th century. It was against this very building that the English launched their infamous “infernal machine”, a battleship filled with dynamite intended to blow up the ramparts. Ironically, it later became an ammunition depot. Today, it offers you an orientation table for navigation and a breathtaking view of the bay of Saint-Malo, from the Varde Point to Cap Fréhel, passing through Dinard.
