Timber-framed houses

This point of interest is available as audio on the tour: Visit Roanne, A rich history of craftsmanship on the banks of the Loire
Take a look at the two houses in the middle of the square. With their magnificent timber-framed facades, these Bourbonnais houses are a true testament to Roanne’s medieval past. They are remnants dating straight back to the 15th century! It was decided to keep them unaltered, much to the delight of visitors. Look to the left of the house and you’ll see a surprising little sculpture on one of the ledges, created by Jean-Pierre Collier.
