This point of interest is available as audio on the tour: Visit Roanne, A rich history of craftsmanship on the banks of the Loire
Introducing the Church of Notre Dame des Victoires, also known as Minimes Church, in reference to the former convent that stood here from 1634. In 1860, the city decided to build a church in a beautiful neo-Gothic style, based on plans by Lyon architect Desjardins. It opened its doors 4 years later, and has remained Roanne’s largest church ever since. Its 54-metre high steeple houses 3 bells made by the Paccard foundry. There’s a magnificent main altar and more than 50 stained-glass windows inside the church. Step inside to take a tour and explore its nooks and crannies.
