Banks of the Loire River

Ce point d’intérêt est disponible en audio dans le circuit: Visit Roanne, A rich history of craftsmanship on the banks of the Loire
You’re now standing on the banks of the Loire. This new space that was recently developed here is called les Bords de Loire and is divided into 2 parts: the first, on your right, is called Roanne Plage or Roanne Beach. It was opened a few years ago and features children’s games, a reflecting pool and waterside access. The second, on your left, takes you along a pleasant path to the port of Roanne. There are even deckchairs for sunbathing on the banks of the Loire. Designed to host a wide range of activities and events, including the annual French Music Festival, this brand new park invites visitors to relax and is a great welcome to the city. It also serves as a link to the canal and the Véloire cycling route linking Roanne to Digoin. If you’re visiting in summer, be sure to take a look at the programme to know what activities are planned as part of Festiv’Eté, the free festival that has brought the town to life every summer since 2014. From outdoor sports and children’s activities to concerts and shows, there’s something for everyone! Now, I’ll let you make the most of the venue before taking a leisurely stroll down to the canal…
