Reims Promenades

Ce point d’intérêt est disponible en audio dans le circuit: Visit Reims, The martyr city
If you’re looking for a place to relax in the heart of Reims, you’re at the right spot. Reims promenades is a place dedicated to leisure activities, much to the delight of families. Although this 3,000 m² esplanade was inaugurated in its current form in 2019, it was already home to a promenade created for the city’s residents in the 18th century. It is divided into two parts, the Upper Promenades, where you are now, and the Lower Promenades, which lie behind you, all separated by Colbert Square. The water mirror in the middle of the tree-lined avenues, is very popular with locals in summer, as they enjoy coming here to cool off from the heat. A little further from here, the “Martyrs of Resistance and Deportation” monument commemorates the names of the people of Reims who were victims of Nazi repression and honours the French Resistance. Recently renovated, this area is a real meeting place for local residents, who come here to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.
