Wallenstein Palace

Ce point d’intérêt est disponible en audio dans le circuit: Visit Prague, A baroque city full of history
Prague is a city full of grandeur, best shown by its architecture. The Wallenstein Palace is one of the most significant pieces of Baroque architecture in the Czech Republic. It was built between 1623 and 1630 by Albrecht von Wallenstein, a Prague native known at the time for his immense wealth and power. This military commander, seeking greatness, wanted to live somewhere that rivalled the grand Prague Castle. To make way for this ambitious project, 23 houses, a brickyard, and three gardens were demolished. Quite something, isn’t it? Today, the Wallenstein Palace houses the Senate. Beyond its unique architecture, the palace’s gardens also attract lots of visitors, open from April 1st to October 31st. If you’re in Prague during this time, go ahead and explore them. This lush oasis blends greenery and Mannerist sculptures, retaining its original charm.
