And let’s not forget the M&M’s World store, a chocolate lover’s paradise. This is also where you’ll find Broadway’s oldest opera house, the New Amsterdam Theatre. This stunning venue, affectionately known as “The House Beautiful,” has been staging theatrical performances and musicals since 1903. But the New Amsterdam is just one of over a hundred theaters here, staging the world’s best-known musicals every day. This is hardly surprising, given that Broadway runs straight through Times Square and the neighborhood was long known as the Theater District before it got its current name.
