The New York Public Library, the second largest in the US, is brimming with literary and historical treasures, home to 56 million documents collected since its founding in 1895. Beyond its vast collection of books, research articles, and DVDs, this beautiful library features a room showcasing historical gems, including some of history’s most important writings, such as a draft of the Declaration of Independence written by Thomas Jefferson, and one of the few surviving copies of the Gutenberg Bible. Every year, no fewer than 15 million visitors come to discover this Beaux-Arts-style building, which displays its works to the public free of charge. A real goldmine, guarded by the two sculpted lions at its entrance!
