You are looking at one of the world’s most famous concert halls. Carnegie Hall was built in 1890 by Andrew Carnegie and opened its doors a year later to host the world’s greatest musical performances. It soon became internationally renowned for its classical music concerts, welcoming some of the greatest composers of all time. It comprises three performance halls: the Main Hall, seating 2,800; the Chamber Music Hall, seating 600; and the Recital Hall, seating 250. While famous for its exceptional acoustics, Carnegie Hall also impresses with its Italian Renaissance-inspired architecture. It’s been listed as a historic monument since 1964 and has hosted performances by some of the biggest names in blues, jazz, rock, and pop music, such as The Beatles, Bob Dylan and Edith Piaf. Carnegie Hall, a true benchmark when it comes to concert halls, is an important part of New York’s history and culture, and remains a must-see venue for music lovers around the globe.
