This point of interest is available as audio on the tour: Visit Milan, Secrets and Treasures of the Lombard Capital
You’re now inside one of the largest fortified structures in Europe, and quite possibly the most beautiful in Italy. This is Milan’s most important cultural complex. On the ground floor, you’ll find the Museum of Ancient Art, which takes you back to the time of the Sforzas and houses the Pietà Rondanini, Michelangelo’s final, unfinished masterpiece. Upstairs, the Pinacoteca offers an impressive collection of paintings. You can also journey back to ancient Egypt in the Egyptian Museum, explore an array of painted works in the Museum of Decorative Arts, or marvel at the remarkable collection in the Museum of Musical Instruments. In short, there’s plenty to keep you busy here.
