This point of interest is available as audio on the tour: Visit Lucerne, The land of dragons
Before you stands the entrance to the Glacier Garden, a popular geological museum in Lucerne. If you’re travelling with the Swiss Travel Pass—which gives access to public transport and many activities across the country—then admission is free. Otherwise, you’ll need a ticket to explore this fascinating museum. Start with the Felsenwelt, or World of Rock, for a journey through time and geology. It’s an immersive experience that takes you deep into the Earth to uncover its ancient secrets. You’ll also come across a mirror maze, made up of 90 mirrors. It was originally built for the 1896 Swiss National Exhibition in Geneva, and inspired by the Alhambra Palace in Granada. The site is best known for its glacial potholes, which are circular rock formations shaped by erosion over thousands of years. The museum is housed in the former residence of its founder, who discovered rare fossils in his garden in the 19th century! If geology or glaciology are your thing, then a stop at Lucerne’s Glacier Garden is an absolute must.
