London Eye view

This point of interest is available as audio on the tour: Visit London, The Royal Tour
In case you haven’t had your fill of it yet, here’s a lovely panorama overlooking the Thames and some of the capital’s most iconic monuments! As you must have noticed, the Ferris wheel stands proudly on the other side of the river, taking visitors to its summit for an unforgettable panoramic view of London. Slightly further from it, opposite the famous London Eye, you can see the Westminster Palace, the Victoria Tower, Big Ben and its famous clock. The impressive Whitehall Palace catches your eye on the right. This palace was the principal residence of the kings and queens of England between 1530 and 1698, after the Westminster Palace burned down and before it was itself ravaged by fire, making way for St James’s Palace to become the royal residence. Needless to say, the royal family changed palaces every time a fire broke out in one of them! That’s why nowadays it’s normal to see four royal palaces in the same district of London! Anyway, this rich historical heritage makes for a magnificent view from the bridge, don’t you think?
