London Eye

Ce point d’intérêt est disponible en audio dans le circuit: Visit London, The Royal Tour
This is the London Eye, one of London’s most iconic attractions! Installed in the year 2000, it was originally intended to remain in place for only a few years to celebrate the 3rd millennium, however, as a result of its great popularity with visitors coming from all over the world to see it, it’s staying here for good. Standing 135 metres high, it is the highest Ferris wheel in Europe and the third highest in the world! It offers an exceptional view of the city and its surroundings, and on sunny days you can see as far as 40km away. No wonder it attracts 3 million visitors every year who eagerly hop on to one of its 32 capsules. London’s most iconic monuments are revealed as the wheel rises: Westminster Palace, St Paul’s Cathedral, Buckingham Palace… you name it, you’ll see it during the 30-minute visit! However, the London Eye is also an extraordinary architectural feat: it took 7 years to build this monumental attraction, with the help of hundreds of people from 5 different countries. It is therefore no coincidence that it is now one of the most visited tourist attractions in the English capital! That said, will you be tempted to take a spin on the Ferris wheel? Rumour has it that marriage proposals are regularly made at the top…
