Ce point d’intérêt est disponible en audio dans le circuit: Visit London, From Camden Town to Regent’s Park
This is probably the most famous wax museum in the world! Here you can take photos with some of the world’s biggest stars and most influential personalities. But first, let’s take a look at the history of this famous museum. The museum was created in the 19th century thanks to the talent of Madame Tussauds. Born in Strasbourg in 1761, she became the teacher of King Louis XVI’s sister at the age of 17, to whom she taught her passion for arts. After the French Revolution, she inherited the wax collection of the man who had taught her all about the art of modelling, Dr Philippe Curtius. In the early nineteenth century, she moved to Great Britain and displayed her work on exhibition tours for over 35 years. In 1835 she opened the Baker Street Bazaar and exhibited her impressive collection. After her death, her descendants continued to keep her art alive, creating wax models in honour of the greatest figures of their time. Today, there are 300 wax figures in the London museum and 23 Madame Tussauds museums around the world! Now, with whom will you take the perfect photo? Brad Pitt, James Bond or the Royal Family?
