Grodzka Street

This point of interest is available as audio on the tour: Visit Krakow, Little Poland
You’re now walking along Grodzka Street, the second section of the Royal Route, which runs from the Market Square to Wawel Castle. The first part of the route is Floriańska Street, which links the square to the Barbican. Grodzka is one of the oldest streets in the city, and it’s been a path of great significance for centuries – used by kings arriving in Kraków, bishops heading to the cathedral to take office, ambassadors on official visits, and funeral processions for some of Poland’s most prominent figures. Today, it’s your turn to walk in their footsteps.
