Inside, you’ll find one of the most important fine arts collections in the country and one of Europe’s largest collections of prints and drawings. Now, look closely at the building’s façade to spot a curious feature: a digital clock quietly ticking down…This is not just any countdown!

It’s an artwork known as the Big Crunch Clock, created in 1999. It counts down the estimated time remaining before the eventual implosion of the sun—a humorous yet thought-provoking reminder that even stars have an expiry date. Don’t worry, though—it’s set for about 5 billion years from now, so we’ve still got time!
