Porcellino Fountain

Ce point d’intérêt est disponible en audio dans le circuit: Visit Florence, A world of art
Although it depicts a wild boar, this fountain is known as the Fontana del Porcellino — the “little pig” fountain. The sculpture you see here is actually a replica of one created in the 17th century for the Pitti Palace, which itself was inspired by an even older marble statue brought from Rome to Florence a century earlier for the Medici family. Still, that long chain of copies doesn’t make the fountain’s legend any less special…Apparently, if you rub the boar’s snout and put a coin in its mouth, all your wishes will come true! It’s worth a try, don’t you think?
