Back in the Middle Ages, it was a major player in Mediterranean trade, before being heavily bombed during the Croatian War of Independence at the end of the 20th century. Today, people flock to this harbour for some peace and quiet. At nighttime, the port is a popular spot for couples who come to admire the lit-up bay.
