Come meet the famous Louis Pasteur, the French scientist, chemist and physicist who developed the rabies vaccine in 1885. It was one of the first vaccines developed in the history of human medicine, along with the smallpox vaccine, and it paved the way for the development of many others. The museum before you recounts the story and achievements of this man, through a series of models and videos that chronicle the discovery that changed the face of medicine. It’s a fitting tribute to the scientist and it’s all housed in the very building where he was born. That’s right, Louis Pasteur was born on this very spot, in Dole, in 1822. In 1923, his house became a museum dedicated to his memory, allowing visitors to discover his life and work. You should definitely check it out. It’s a great opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of science!
