The King’s Garden

Ce point d’intérêt est disponible en audio dans le circuit: Visit Copenhagen, A Scandinavian jewel

You are now in the King’s Garden, a beautiful green park surrounding Rosenborg Castle. It was commissioned by King Christian IV, one of the most important kings of Denmark. The garden stood here before the palace, for it was established here in 1606 while the palace only came later, in 1624. Outside the city walls, this used to be a Renaissance garden, until it was redesigned into a Baroque garden once the Royal family moved out. Open to visitors ever since, locals love to come here and enjoy its green alleys to escape from the city’s frenzy. Evidently, it’s the most popular park in the city centre. You quickly understand why when you spot Rosenborg Castle from here! A park with statues, rose garden and puppet stage, this is the perfect place for both locals and tourists to watch concerts and shows, making this beautiful green space a lively place no matter what the season!
