The Queen’s Gallery

Ce point d’intérêt est disponible en audio dans le circuit: Visit BRUSSELS, The Beating Heart of Europe
You’re now stepping into the Royal Gallery of Saint Hubert, divided into three sections: the Queen’s Gallery, where you are now, the King’s Gallery, and the Prince’s Gallery. Locals like to call them Brussels’ Umbrella. Built in 1847, it’s one of the oldest in Europe, which welcomes almost 6 million visitors each year! Elegant and refined, you’ll find luxury shops topped by a gorgeous glass roof. An instant success, it quickly became a meeting point for artists and intellectuals of the time. The Passage Tavern, for instance—known as the Café des Arts before 1892—was a regular meeting point for Victor Hugo and Alexandre Dumas, as well as surrealist painters from the COBRA group. Know that I’m not referring to snakes—the acronym is for Copenhagen, Brussels, and Amsterdam. A place that has welcomed renowned guests and millions of tourists—and here you are now, enjoying this charming little world apart from the city. Take your time and enjoy it!
