Ce point d’intérêt est disponible en audio dans le circuit: Visit Brisbane, Slow life and cool attitude in the Sunshine state
A perfect example of Australia’s relaxed lifestyle, South Bank Parklands is a fantastic place to explore—especially on sunny days. Which is pretty much all year round in Brissie! Located in the heart of the city, and evidently on the south bank, this site was originally developed to host the 1988 World Expo. This major event was a real turning point for the former industrial wasteland, giving it lots of attention. After receiving several redevelopment proposals, the government decided to create a vast park along the Brisbane River. And that’s exactly where you are right now. As you follow the paths—you can either walk or cycle—you’ll pass by lush gardens, picnic areas, and even an artificial lagoon where you can take a swim. With world-class entertainment and leisure facilities, your next few minutes—or even hours—are already well planned out! One last fun fact about South Bank Parklands… It’s very close to the Neville Bonner bridge. If you cross it, you’ll be right opposite a building called “The Star Brisbane”. You can step inside, and enjoy a drink on the 23rd floor, while admiring the spectacular view. Not far from there, you’ll find the West End, Brisbane’s famous bohemian district. Amidst the lively atmosphere, you’ll find plenty of restaurants, and you’ll definitely be tempted to return!
