The Siam Museum opened in 2008 in the former Ministry of Commerce building. Its various rooms trace Thailand’s 3,000-year old history, back to when it was called Siam. The museum covers a variety of themes, including the origins of Thai people and their culture, the traditions and roots of Southeast Asian communities, and relations between the region’s different ethnic groups and cultures. The museum uses modern technology to provide visitors with an engaging and insightful experience through history and ethnography. Your knowledge on Thai identity will never be the same.
