View of the Rhône

This point of interest is available as audio on the tour: Visit Avignon, On y danse, on y danse !
Yet another breathtaking view! The Rhône River stretches out in front of you, as does the Barthelasse Island, France’s largest river island. Right opposite you, there’s the Saint-André Fort, a fortress built by King John the Good of France on Mount Andaon, in the commune of Villeneuve-lès-Avignon. On your left, you’ll see the Philippe-le-Bel Tower, the last vestige of a fortress built in the 13th century. And just below, on the Rhône, you can spot the famous Pont d’Avignon. Continue a little further down the park, on your left, to find a lookout point for even better views of the bridge. Otherwise, keep following the itinerary, as we’ll be heading down to see it up close!
