Excelsior House

Ce point d’intérêt est disponible en audio dans le circuit: Visit Auckland, The City of Sails
This building, known as Excelsior House, was constructed in 1885. It was originally intended to house the Brown, Barret & Co group, a group of tea, coffee, and spice merchants. Its architecture is reminiscent of 19th century New Zealand, although part of the building was demolished in the 1930s to make way for Commerce Street, designed to expand the city center. Its façade is adorned with a beautiful mural painted in 2020 by Shane Cotton.
