Ho Lui’s Studio

This point of interest is available as audio on the tour: Visit Antibes, Let’s head to the French Riviera
On your left, at number 12 on the street, you’ll find the studio of an artist whose work you might have already spotted around town — if you know where to look! His creations are tucked into the cracks, holes, and stains on building walls, sidewalks, and even the street itself, transforming everyday imperfections into art. Look up above the studio to see several faces carved into the wall — a perfect example of his remarkable style. Originally from Shanghai, Ho Lui graduated from the Paris School of Fine Arts in 1989 and eventually settled in Antibes. A master of both painting and sculpture, his work has been showcased at prestigious places such as the Centre Pompidou. Today, you can find around 600 of his pieces scattered across Antibes, etched into the fabric of the town. Keep your eyes peeled — you’re sure to spot more as you explore. And if the studio is open, feel free to step inside for a closer look!
