This point of interest is available as audio on the tour: Visit Angers, The Green City

This pretty monument in the heart of Angers’ shopping street is the Pincé museum. It was built between 1528 and 1535 in the Renaissance style by the Angevin architect Jean Delespine. The building was originally a mansion for Jean de Pincé, the mayor in office at the time, and the residence of many other wealthy citizens of the city after him. In 1889, it became a museum open to visitors, displaying works from Greek, Roman, Etruscan and Egyptian antiquity, as well as Chinese and Japanese art. Experts will notice that this sumptuous building is in the neo-Gothic style used by architect Lucien Magne, who renovated it as a museum at the end of the 19th century. It’s a truly remarkable building, right in the heart of the bustling streets of Angers!
