Dam Square

Ce point d’intérêt est disponible en audio dans le circuit: Visit Amsterdam, Along the canals
It is hard to know if it’s a square or a city itself! This is Dam Square, one of the most iconic places in Amsterdam. A regular passage for locals, it is also a favorite among tourists for its past and the beautiful historic buildings surrounding it. Here you’ll find the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, the luxury department store De Bijenkorf, home to many sophisticated fashion brands, and of course, the Royal Palace, probably the first to have caught your eye! Many protests have taken place here over the years, from the Anabaptist riots of 1535 to the protests that erupted in 1980 following the coronation of Queen Beatrix. Feel the spirit of the city’s inhabitants on this plaza, which has been walked across in every direction through the ages!
