Ce point d’intérêt est disponible en audio dans le circuit: Visit Ajaccio, Imperial City
You’re likely to see a crowd of people on this narrow street, but that’s only to be expected as you approach the house of Napoleon Bonaparte. The future French emperor was born here on August 15, 1769. Today, his home is a museum retracing the emperor’s childhood and adolescence. The interior immerses you in the world of the 18th century, with furniture, paintings and tapestries from the past. The highly instructive rooms recount the story of the Bonaparte family and the legend of their descendants. There is an admission fee. You can also take the opportunity to discover the garden of the Bonaparte House, right next door, which is freely accessible. Small and lush, it nevertheless offers a pleasant break in the shade of the mandarin trees. If you want more, just around the corner on Saint-Charles street is Napoléon Cave. It is a private museum featuring an original multimedia concept, projecting a movie about the emperor’s life while you are seated at your table.
