What to do in Florence

1. Santa Maria Del Fiore Cathedral

The Cathedral of Santa Maria Del Fiore, or more commonly known as the Duomo, is the most popular attraction with tourists. And with good reason? Good to know: Open all year round except on religious holidays, you can visit the Duomo from 8.30am to 7.00pm Monday to Friday, and from 8.30am to 5.00pm on Saturdays, and from 1pm on Sundays to 4pm. Our advice? Come in the late afternoon, when the sun is about to set… MAGNIFICENT!

2. Galileo Museum

3. The Basilica of Santa Croce

4. The Bargello Museum

Dating back to 1345 and built of stone, it is the oldest bridge in the whole of Europe, but don’t worry, it’s perfectly safe to walk on. With the family at the end of the day or as lovers, after a few moments strolling around the city, take a moment to rest on the Ponte Vecchio, which is an excellent spot to contemplate the sunset, in shades of orange, red and yellow… It’s like being in a chick flick.

Good to know: Ponte Vecchio means “old bridge” in Italian, and historians say that it is the only bridge to have survived from Florence’s medieval period, which is why it is so precious in the eyes of Florentines.

7. The Boboli Garden

Description: If you’re looking for a way to end your stay with a touch of greenery and total relaxation, then the Boboli Garden is the ideal place. In the mood for romance? Many like to describe it as a “Florentine haven of peace”, where you can simply admire the natural surroundings.
