For nearly 20 years, the Philharmonie has welcomed famous orchestras and artists from all over the world to share their passion with the public. With a music hall seating up to 300 people, it’s not unusual to see as many as forty musicians in one evening, thrilling our senses and delighting our hearts to the very depths of our eardrums. Depending on the programme, you can listen to jazz, chamber music, cinema, soul… There’s something for everyone.
Good to know: Classed as one of the most prestigious concert halls in Europe, the Philharmonie is located in the Rue Erasme, inside the great “Kirchberg”.
3. The medieval castle of Vianden
Category: €/Cultural/Sensation
Description: It goes without saying that a historical visit is a must. It is a worthy monument of European standing, ranked among the top 21 most beautiful castles in the world. Built between the 11th and 14th centuries on the foundations of a Roman castel and, according to historians, a Carolingian refuge, it was the home of the Counts of Vianden. Today, it is possible to take a full tour of this immense site, which is several centuries old. Are there any rooms you should visit first? After some restoration work, while retaining the style of the period, the two stately homes and the chapel are said to be breathtaking.
Good to know: Much to our surprise, you don’t have to book a visit. The château is open every day from 10am, except on 1 January and 25 December.
4. Do an extreme sport

It’s the perfect activity if you’re travelling with friends and you’re looking for a thrill, because you’ll feel like you’re escaping and freeing yourself from your everyday worries.

As well as being a nature-lover’s paradise with stunning views over the landscape, it’s also a great place to take a break from the big city. By car, bike or on foot, you’ll be happy to get some exercise while discovering the vineyards and wine cellars. If you’re not a big fan of wine, you should know that Moselle grows plenty of fruit, which provides exquisite, organic juices processed by winegrowers.
