1.Burj Khalifa

At 828 metres, the Burj Khalifa is the world’s tallest and most famous skyscraper, and it’s located in the city of excess, Dubai!

Officially inaugurated on 4 January 2010, the tower was known as the Burj Dubai, in other words the Tower of Dubai. Its current name is a tribute to Sheikh Khalifa, the Emir of Abu Dhabi and President of the United Arab Emirates.

When you visit Dubai, this tower is a must-see!

2.Tokyo Skytree

This tower’s main function is to carry out digital transmissions, particularly for television and radio broadcasting. Initially planned to measure 610 metres, it will end up being 23 metres longer… This is not pure chance.

“634” can be read as “Mu-Sa-Shi” in Japanese, the name of the ancient province where Tokyo Skytree is located.

The Tokyo Skytree has become a veritable emblem of the Japanese capital since its inauguration on 22 May 2012, and is expected to play an important role in preventing natural disasters!

3 Shanghai Tower

Based on concrete pillars, this tower is located in the financial district of Shanghai, China’s second-largest city.

The shape of the structure is not insignificant… It enables it to withstand the powerful winds that regularly blow in this region.

At the top of its 634 metres, you can enjoy an unforgettable panoramic view of the city from the Shanghai Tower.

4.Canton Tower

Also in China, Canton Tower is the fourth tallest tower in the world. At the heart of this tower is a shopping centre, a museum and restaurants offering panoramic views, but that’s not all!

As well as being a tourist tower, Canton Tower is home to a number of television studios.

It would be a shame not to take advantage of its size to get a bird’s eye view of the city and discover the observation areas on the 107th and 108th floors.

What’s more, if you’re in Guangzhou after dark, you can enjoy the beauty of the tower when it’s illuminated.

5.Abraj Al Bait Towers

Comprising seven towers, the tallest of these skyscrapers stands 601 metres high and is the Makkah Clock Royal Tower. This tower is located in Saudi Arabia, in Mecca to be precise.

Its name is simple: Abraj means “towers” and Al Bait “the house”!

6.Ping An Finance Centre

The Ping An Finance Centre is a 599-metre skyscraper completed in 2017 in Shenzhen, China.

It took seven years to build the tower, which now houses restaurants and offices.

7.Lotte World Tower

The Lotte World Tower is the tallest tower in South Korea, no less!

Built in the middle of Seoul in 2017, this skyscraper is made entirely of glass.

It was built with the sole aim of attracting visitors to South Korea from all over the world. Today, the Lotte World Tower houses offices, luxury flats and the Signiel Seoul hotel, not to mention the observation deck.

8.One World Trade Center

A skyscraper in memory of the twin towers…

Located in the heart of New York’s Manhattan district, the One World Trade Center tower was built as a tribute to the Twin Towers, the targets of the 11 September 2001 attack.

9.CN Tower

This large telecommunications centre has become a Toronto landmark and is the second tallest free-standing man-made structure on the ground.

The CN Tower features a panoramic restaurant, a transparent glass floor and an observation platform.

10.CTF Finance Centre

The tenth tallest skyscraper in the world is located in Guangzhou, China. The CTF Finance Centre houses a hotel, offices and residences. The tower reached its current height on 10 July 2014 and was finally completed in 2016.

11 Taipei 101

Its name comes from the number of floors it has! This 101-storey skyscraper overlooks the capital of Taiwan, and has done so since it was inaugurated in 2004.

If you’re a fashionista, you’ll be delighted by the many chic stores in the tower’s shopping arcade.

And for those of you with a sweet tooth, there are panoramic restaurants to tempt you into a meal.

And if you’re simply one of those people who wants to take in the sights, then the observatory is the place for you!

12.lakhta Center

The roof of Europe!

At 462 metres, the Lakha Center is the tallest skyscraper in the world. This tower in the Primorsky district of St Petersburg, Russia, is home to Gazprom’s headquarters, and covers a third of the tower’s surface area (the tallest).

Its futuristic design will make your head spin.

13 Petronas Twin Towers

Designed in 1998 in Kuala Lampur, Malaysia, the Petronas Tower rises to 451 metres, making it the tallest twin towers in the world. Today it houses an aquarium, a cinema, a shopping centre, an auditorium and a mosque.

14.the project of the future

1 kilometre!?

Yes, it’s real (or soon to be), the Kingdom Tower is set to dethrone the Burj Kalifa, the world’s tallest tower in Dubai.

The project is due to be completed in Saudi Arabia in 2025.
