Angers, in the Maine-et-Loire department, is home to a park unlike any other: Terra Botanica is Europe’s leading park dedicated to the world of plants and biodiversity. It features more than 5,000 plant species from all over the world, and attractions designed to raise public awareness of biodiversity and help visitors discover the plants of our planet through events that are accessible to all.

By car

Terra Botanica is a 15-minute drive from the centre of Angers, 1 hour from Nantes and Rennes, 1h15 from Le Mans and Tours and 2h30 from Paris.

Free parking is available in front of the park entrance for cars, coaches and camper vans.

By public transport

Terra Botanica can be reached from the centre of Angers by bus lines 5 or 3d, or by tramway A. In all cases, stop at the Terra Botanica stop.

Terra Botanica is a veritable paradise for plant lovers. You’ll have the chance to discover over 500,000 plants and trees in the park, representing 5,000 different species from every continent. But what makes this area so special are the dozens of activities, events and even attractions that have been set up to give you an unforgettable experience among the plants.

Examples of the park’s attractions:

  • Terra seen from the sky: a balloon that rises to a height of 150 metres to give you a different view of the park
  • The Botanical Odyssey: a boat that takes you for a few minutes along the water to discover the surrounding area
  • La Coquille de Noix: a walk through the trees along a specially-designed circuit

Please note: tickets are cheaper if you buy them online for a specific date. The further in advance you book your ticket (more than 6 days before your visit), the lower the price. So remember to book your ticket at least a week in advance!

There is a season pass that gives you unlimited access to the park for the duration of the current season: €65 for adults and €35 for children.

Opening times

Open every day from early April to early September, then weekends in September and October. Be sure to check the site in advance, as it is closed on certain days of the year in exceptional circumstances.

Open from 10am to 7pm during the high season and at weekends, and from 10am to 6pm on weekdays the rest of the year.

The park organises a number of events throughout the year, including the Printemps de Terra, the Fête de l’Automne and the Journées Végétales. Be sure to check the opening times on the website for each of these events.

It also offers evening visits during the summer, until 10.30pm-11pm depending on the date.

Accessibility

The entire park is accessible to people with reduced mobility. All attractions are also accessible except the Walnut Shell Journey. Magnetic loops are available in the cinemas.

Wheelchairs can be borrowed at the park entrance, on presentation of proof of identity.

Pets

Pets are not allowed in the park. Only guide dogs are allowed in.
