Dubai’s most beautiful beaches
Every year, millions of visitors come to admire the modern, monumental skyscrapers, shop in the large shopping complexes and, of course, enjoy Dubai’s endless sandy beaches…
With calm, warm waters and a climate that’s perfect for swimming when it’s cold here (from October to May), say goodbye to the cold, rainy winter and hello to Dubai’s sunny beaches!
Dubai’s most beautiful beaches
1 – Sunset Beach
This beach offers an incredible view of the Burj Arab hotel tower and is one of Dubai’s most popular beaches.
Several kilometres long, it is undeveloped and there are no shady areas or even umbrellas, only cabins where you can change, so don’t forget your towel and bottle of water! Despite this, the beach is a firm favourite with locals and tourists alike.
2 – JBR (Jumeirah Beach Residences)
A beach for all the family, where you can enjoy a wide range of activities: diving, water sports, camel rides, volleyball, yoga, surfing, sailing…
Activities to suit all levels, and if you’re feeling peckish, the on-site bars and restaurants offer local cuisine.
The less sporty can simply enjoy a moment of zen on their sun lounger or take a stroll.
3 – The Beach at the Jumeirah Beach residence
Adjacent to the shopping centre, you can combine the pleasure of the beach with that of shopping without moderation!
International shops, cinema, restaurants, market (local produce), activity centres, deckchair and parasol hire and water sports: surfing, kayaking, jet-skiing, water skiing, beach volleyball…
4 – Kite Beach
This is the place to be for water sports enthusiasts, and it has to be said that the water sports centre is particularly well equipped: surf, kitesurf and paddle surf fans will not be disappointed.
Those who want to give it a try are also very welcome. The best time to go to Kite Beach is in the afternoon, but it’s always a good idea to check the weather forecast to make sure you get some good waves.
Those accompanying you can enjoy the sandy beach, which plunges into crystal-clear water. Endurance enthusiasts can indulge themselves on the 14km of beach, where there are plenty of food stalls to satisfy any hunger pangs.
5 – La Plage de la Mer
This district extends along the seafront and offers magnificent beaches where you can relax in the shade of the palm trees.
It’s a place where farniente and culture come together, with numerous murals, art centres and commercial shops in a wide variety of styles. It’s a place where families, groups of friends and couples gather, with restaurants serving dishes from all over the world. Last but not least, the Laguna Watepark is a great place to spend some quality time with family and friends, surrounded by water slides, surf simulators and other attractions.
6 – Black Palace Beach
A rare place, impenetrable by road, Black Palace is a place that arouses the curiosity of tourists, in fact, the only way to reach it is via a narrow path through the palaces…
There are no facilities on site, so it’s a good idea to bring something to eat and drink. There are no toilets or umbrellas – it’s an unspoilt spot, but that doesn’t mean you’ll be alone in the world, as the beach attracts a lot of people at certain times of the year.
The sunset is particularly romantic on this discreet beach, although it is forbidden to swim after dark.
7 – Al Mamzar Beach Park
This beach offers a panoramic view of the surrounding area, a beach where you will find picnic areas, changing rooms, swimming pools, barbecues, parks…
Lifeguards are on hand to supervise children’s swimming, and the mini-train will let you enjoy the 360° view without tiring you out.
8 – Jumeirah Beach Park
This huge complex alternates between beaches and green spaces, with restaurants, children’s activities, basketball, volleyball and handball courts… On Mondays, the park is reserved for women and children only.
9 – Marina Beach
Very popular with tourists, this luxury district is dotted with white sandy beaches, shopping centres, luxury boutiques and a wide range of activities.
A chilled cocktail in the shade of a palm tree, a diving session in crystal-clear waters, a moment of relaxation at a spa, a trip to the zoo, or a round of golf – the choice is yours…
Good to know: alcohol may only be consumed in bars and restaurants, not outdoors (streets, beaches, etc.). High-cut bikinis are not very popular in Dubai, so it’s best to opt for a basic two-piece or 1-piece swimming costume.
