Trébaille Square

Sure, it’s not the most bustling part of town, but sometimes you have to venture off the beaten path to make the best of discoveries. Time just seems to stand still in this tiny square; it’s almost like it’s a secret only a few people know about. The long fountain is a nice touch, but the real eye-catcher here are the ancient ruins of a Romanesque cloister. It’s like they just materialized out of thin air. Except they actually belong to Albi’s former cathedral, which actually predates the present-day one. Back in the day, this was the heart of the city’s religious community. This bucolic esplanade sits right at the entrance to the historic Castelviel district. Take a step back and frame your shot! The Roman ruins with the Tarn river as a backdrop are truly a sight to behold!
